On paid plans Calendly can collect a payment at booking through Stripe. What it has no built-in way to do is keep that card on file and charge a no-show or late-cancellation fee from it. That step is left to you, manually, after the client has already missed. In practice it does not happen, because nobody enjoys invoicing someone for not turning up.
For an independent professional that is the whole cost. A no-show is not a booking problem. It is an empty hour and a no-show fee you never collected. When Calendly is the better choice
We would rather be honest than win an argument. Calendly is the stronger pick if you mainly need team round-robin scheduling, sales-meeting routing, a large library of integrations, or a free link for simple meetings with no money involved. It is a better product than us at all four, and we are not planning to compete on any of them.
Sessurely is the stronger pick if you are one person whose income depends on people showing up, and you want deposits, no-show fees, and the client context and follow-ups around each appointment in one place. That is a narrower product on purpose.
